An intervention is a plan, not an ambush.
The televised version, where a family confronts someone by surprise and a van waits outside, is not how this usually works and often is not what the situation calls for. What works is preparation: knowing what you are asking for, where they would go, and what happens if they say no.
What we help families work through
- Whether an intervention is the right step now, or whether something quieter is more likely to work
- Who should be in the room, and who should not
- What each person will say, and what to do when it does not go to plan
- The specific placement ready to accept them, with insurance already checked
- What boundaries the family is genuinely prepared to hold afterward
The placement has to exist before the conversation
An intervention that ends in a yes and no available bed is worse than no intervention at all. We do the facility vetting first, so the answer to “where would I even go” is a specific program, a specific admissions contact, and a confirmed bed.
How it is scoped
Family support and intervention services are engaged separately from our $500 placement service, with the scope and fee agreed in your initial consultation. That conversation costs nothing, and it often ends with us recommending you wait.
